Treat Yourself at The Best Barbecue Restaurants in Virginia Beach

Whether you want to enjoy some pulled pork or a slab of St. Louis-style ribs, nearby restaurants serve these barbecue favorites and more. The best barbecue eateries near our Virginia Beach apartments include:

Beach Bully

Before opening Beach Bully, Chris Merrill and Rick Waskey worked at local festivals. They started with frozen hamburgers before moving on to pulled pork. The restaurant's original menu featured sliced smoke beef sandwiches and a handful of other offerings. Today, it boasts over 70 different items, making them one of the most prolific barbecue spots in Virginia Beach. Along with the sandwiches, you can also enjoy ribs, pulled chicken, and Carolina pork.

Malbon Bros. BBQ

Mike and Mark Malbon grew up on one of the East Coast's largest hog farms. The farm stood in what is now the Ocean Lakes area of Virginia Beach. The brothers eventually opened a convenience store, and when they added a restaurant inside, Malbon Bros. BBQ was born. Mike and Mark even created their own signature sauces; diners can enjoy a mild sauce or one with a bit of heat. Platter choices include chicken barbecue, beef brisket, and baby back ribs.

Mission BBQ

Honoring our country's heroes, Mission BBQ is known for its daily salute to the Stars and Stripes. It also offers a menu featuring barbecue from the Carolinas, Memphis, and beyond. The culinary team only uses the finest ingredients. They create something for every palate, and you don't want to miss the smokehouse signature dishes. Enjoy the chicken or St. Louis-style spare ribs with the fresh-cut fries and green beans & bacon.

Before dinner, enjoy a bike ride along a local trail. When you're ready to become a resident of Columbus Station, please contact us. Our leasing team would love to show you our apartments in Virginia Beach firsthand.
